A unique opportunity to hear three of the country’s most pre-eminent scholars share their visions of how the past will be investigated, understood and presented in the future and how technological and scientific advances will affect the communication of research and discovery.

Members of the audience are encouraged to take part in this debate, and there will be opportunities to put questions to the members of the panel.

Richard Bradley is Professor of Archaeology at Reading University. His main interests are in European prehistory and his fieldwork has led him to study prehistoric settlements, landscapes and monuments in England, Scotland, Sweden, Spain and Portugal.

David Cannadine is Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Professor of British History at the Institute of Historical Research, University of London. He is a well-known broadcaster and a recognized commentator on British public life and monarchy. His many books include The Decline and Fall of the British Aristocracy and, most recently, Mellon: an American life, a biography of industrialist and banker, Andrew Mellon.

Carenza Lewis teaches medieval archaeology at the University of Cambridge and is leader of Access Cambridge Archaeology, an initiative designed to widen access to higher education among under-represented groups. She was one of the original team members of the innovative and award-winning Channel 4 archaeological series, 'Time Team', and has presented television programmes for BBC2 and HTV.
